We’ve definitely done our share of St. Michaels (every year) and some other favorite saints, so I was kind of excited that each of my kids ended up picking a pretty obscure saint this year. I’ve been looking forward to sharing what we came up with for each child!
G (age 10) – St. Gracia of Lerida
H (age 8) – Our Lady of Hope (Our Lady of Pontmain)
P (age 6) – St. Vitus
E (age 10 mos.) – St. Dominic Savio
I will share some more details about each costume this week in my Seven Quick Takes.
You know our mini St. Dominic’s saint was chosen by what clothes I had around, because I didn’t quite have it together to plan an entire saint costume for a baby. But it turned out so cute that I haven’t been able to take the bow tie off of him the entire day.
Our school’s All Saints Mass is beautiful. All the children in K-5 dress up as saints, and it is a sight to behold. I like to think that it is a little taste of heaven – this huge crowd of humanity, all so different and colorful, all there with Our Lord.
Did your children dress up as saints this year? I’d love to hear about their costumes or see pictures! Feel free to comment here or on Facebook.
Happy Feast of All Saints!
